Comment on Is The Trifield 100XE The Best EMF Meter? by Eddie Brevo

Most EMF meters measure just one of these categories of EMF, the Trifield 100XE EMF Meter measures all three. On this setting the Trifield 100XE EMF meter will detect cell phone radiation, both that from any cell phone, or cordless phone – get someone to call you and then walk away from your cell phone while its receiving an incoming call, you will be... And its certainly not the ideal choice if you are wanting to measure cell tower radiation and WiFi radiation – better to buy a dedicated RF meter (see my reviews on the Acoustimeter and Cornet meters ). But a meter which offers you the possibility... Watch this video to see a demonstration of the Trifield 100XE EMF meter giving EMF readings on 15 household appliances:. Sure there are better meters out there but the Trifield 100XE EMF meter I believe offers an unbelievable package of functions for the money. It is not, by any means the most accurate meter on the market for measuring EMFs – you can pay over a $1000 for a meter which only measures DC fields.   The first thing to understand when you buy an EMF meter is that the Electromagnetic spectrum is vast, and buying a meter which can test everything is both impractical and extremely expensive (not to mention impossible). We bought the recommended TriField Meter and it showed that the underground utilities buried on our property were putting out a field that read between 25 and 100 on the meter. - The Trifield 100XE EMF meter can test radiation from so many different sources. As I understand it both meters are giving high magnetic field readings (the Trifield only measures to 100mG) so this does suggest the presence of high magnetic fields. Why I Purchased the Trifield 100XE EMF Meter - It’s so simple to use. First thing is to try and negotiate with your boss, find an arrangement where you can sit at a safe distance, at least some of the day (ideally about 6 feet), explain the dangers of EMFs to him/her (you could print out some of the information from... Hi Lloyd, If it’s the TV antenna amplifier that is causing these high magnetic field readings then the nearer you get to it (the source) the higher your readings should go. In any case what important is to minimize your exposure, if both your... The best thing to do when you are getting unbelievably high readings with your meter is test with another meter. What Sort Of Appliances Can I Use The Trifield EMF Meter To Test Around The Home. If you live in Europe or pretty much anywhere outside the US you need to buy a meter which is calibrated at 50Hz, so the meters being sold by Amazon. On the back of your Trifield meter it says “above 3 milligauss of AC magnetic field and above 1 kilovolt/m of AC electric field – biological effects may begin to occur”. I have heard very few complaints about this meter but don’t expect this meter to be what it’s not. So when you buy an EMF meter you need to buy one which can measure the radiation which from a health point of view give us the most cause for concern. If you are using a “US version” Trifield meter (which is calibrated to 60Hz) on a European power supply, which operates at 50Hz, you just multiply your readings by 1. Is Trifield meter good enough to measure cell phone radiation. - I wanted a meter which could give me readings not just an EMF detector. So for instance a magnetic reading of 8 milligauss on your meter would give a reading of 9. I need to know that is their any retailer of trifield meter in india so that we can directly by through them. The EMF meters sold by Amazon. So now I am interested to order Trifield meter. The magnetic reading shows above 100 milligaus (There is an electric meter room behind the wall of my cabin). You need a meter which measures :. -       AC magnetic fields. For your solution to be 100% effective you would need to enclose the field source, in this case your electric meter room…not very practical. You need to go around your home with your meter and identify the sources of magnetic radiation. I just bought a Ghost Meter only to realize it only measures magnetic field from 0 to 5 mGauss in a single direction. I have not tested the Cell Sensor so I can’t comment on it. The meters I recommend, all shown and reviewed in depth on my website, have good accuracy and sensitivity for the money. This meter has received rave customer reviews from people that have already bought it, with an average score of 5 out 5 from reviewers on Amazon. Secondly work on reducing your EMF exposure elsewhere in your life (for me the Q-link is not a solution to the EMF problem), it may be that the LCD is not your biggest source of EMF exposure, subscribe to my newsletter for tips on how to do this. - If the needle on the dial gives a reading on the broken read line on the dial your EMF readings are considered safe, if the needle goes over into a continuous read line you are in the danger zone. My main objective is to measure cell phone radiation and to test whether cell phone EMF shielding works. Im assuming the Trifield 100 XE can read my cell phones radiation levels as well. Magnetic fields can be found around devices like TV screens (older models tend to give off higher levels), clock radios, computer monitors/disk drives, electric typewriters, electric ovens and lots of other common appliances in your home, office... I’m currently using a “Cell Sensor” for all of my EMF readings. Have you tested any cell phone EMF shielding sticker that works. But then you are not interested in measuring everything you are only interested in the EMFs which  have the biggest impact on your health. I conduct EMF readings through my westernfengshui business here in the Twin Cities. The strength of magnetic radiation is directly proportional to the source of radiation, in other words the nearer you get to the source the higher your readings will be. 2. I was also wondering about readily available construction materials that could be used to shield residential/commercial buildings or specific areas from EMFs. Its everywhere here in NYC and I never payed attention until someone mentioned it to me. As a parent, im concerned and it seems I will be purchasing the Trifield 100 XE as it sounds great along with its multi-purpose uses. Hi Lloyd I just bought the trifield Model 100 XE and the rseults for my office cabin where I sit are shocking. “Every house needs this EMF test”. The cheapest combination would be to buy the Trifield with the Cornet to be able to measure across the spectrum. even EMFs from transformers and power lines near the home. You will be surprised at the dozens of appliances that give off EMFs around your home. I personally use a desktop PC…. to date I have not found a low EMF laptop. We don’t know how much EMF exposure leads to damage because there are too many variables. Hi James Yes, this will be exposing you to EMFs, it’s impossible to tell if they will be “dangerous”. I just stumbled across your site when searching for EMF related questions. I do not know of any Indian company selling the Trifield but this retailer ships to India. Magnetic shields work by redirecting the magnetic fields, not by blocking them.   You can also test for leaks and faulty door sealing on your microwave oven, a reading of. 2 mW/cm2 at a distance of six feet would suggest a leaking microwave door seal. Do I need to multiply the Electric field (V/m) and RF/Microwave reading by 1. If you are getting magnetic readings of 8 this does sound high. There must be something causing these readings…wiring faults or a high voltage power lines are the first things that come to mind. I’d be interested to know what could be causing such high readings. Magnetic fields are particularly dangerous in the sense that virtually nothing can stop them, they travel through walls, ceilings, concrete, most metals…. Hi Banks Shielding from magnetic fields is difficult and costly. Giron, for instance, is a magnetic shielding film which can be shaped without it losing its shielding properties. Just turn the knob on to the first “Magnetic” setting and then slowly start moving around your home or workplace. The readings you are getting are high and it is likely/possible that your symptoms are related to this exposure. computer equipment, electrical wiring, electric ovens, TV’s, fluorescent lights…. If I measure for device not using household electricity (laptop on battery, in car, outdoor), do I need to adjust the value too. All you have to be able to do is turn the knob and read the dial.

Is this a Geiger counter?

No. That measures electomagnetic fields (EMF), which are sometimes called electromagnetic radiation, which causes confusion with ionizing radiation because they both have radiation in the name. Ionizing radiation is what a geiger counter measures, and it is what is emitted by something radioactive. EMF is emitted by everything in the universe and includes visible light, infra red, ultra violet, radio waves, microwaves, and much more.

About this book
When Thomas Edison began wiring New York City with a direct current electricity distribution system in the 1880s, he gave humankind the magic of electric light, heat, and power; in the process, though, he inadvertently opened a Pandora's Box of unimaginable illness and death.Dirty Electricitytells the story of Dr. Samuel Milham, the scientist who first alerted the world about the frightening link betweenoccupational exposure to electromagneticfields and human disease. Milham takesreaders through his early years and education, following the twisting path that led to his discovery that most of the twentieth century diseases of civilization, including cancer, cardiovascular disease, diabetes, and suicide, are caused by electromagnetic field exposure.Dr. Milham warns that because of the recentproliferation of radio frequency radiation from cell phones and towers, terrestrial antennas, Wi-Fi and Wi-max systems, broadband internet over power lines, and personal electronic equipment, we may be facing a looming epidemic of morbidity and mortality. InDirty Electricity, he reveals the steps we must take, personally and as a society, to coexist with this marvelous but dangerous technology.

A GREAT INVESTMENT IN YOUR HEALTH

As a former engineer, I was hesitant to buy this meter because of its relatively low price, and I almost purchased the higher priced Trifield made by the same company that has wider ranges of frequencies of the different fields covered. But some wise consultants at a company called LessEMF talked me into this one and a separate RF meter. I bought this one from Amazon because it was about $25 cheaper, and I bought the RF meter from LessEMF since it was not available from Amazon. The service and integrity of both companies are superb, and so are the products. This meter has been everything we needed to try to help my beloved wife with her Electromagnetic Hypersensitivity (EHS). You can measure both AC electric and magnetic fields in a wide range of strengths, and you can measure RF radiation from a microwave. But you CANNOT measure RF from other common devices like wireless devices (phones, computer routers, mice and keyboards, baby monitors, etc.). For those, you need a... 5/5 Steven L. It changed my behavior

How often do you buy a product that changes what you do?I became aware of EMF problems because of a friend who has power lines just outside her condo. After considerable research, I bought the TriField meter as the best product for the money. BTW I found that it's slightly cheaper plus free shipping if you make an offer on eBay to buy it. This product is great! Clear directions, and measures all the stuff that's important. Here's what I'm now doing differently:1. I rearranged our TVs so the older high-radiation sets are in rooms we don't use very often.2. I sit on the other side of the dining table when the living room TV is on (it radiates like fury in all directions, out to 6 feet distance).3. I try to stay 6 feet away from the microwave oven when it's on (you would be amazed at the field strength it produces).4. Whenever possible, I set my cell phone (iPhone) a foot away instead of in my pocket next to my body - every time it... 5/5 Retired Scientist (USA) - See all my reviews This review is from: Trifield 100XE EMF Meter (Tools & Home Improvement) How often do you buy a product that changes what you do?I became aware of EMF problems because of a friend who has power lines just outside her condo. A necessary device for health protection

I recently purchased one of the TriField EMF meters. I am a realtor and I had a client concerned about EMF from nearby power lines, so I decided to do my own test. Everyone has heard about the possible health threat from EMF. Any reading above 3 is not suppose to be exposed to for long periods of time. I checked with the power company and they stated the power lines were 12Kv which is low compared to high voltage transmission lines on towers. Wow, was I shocked and amazed. By the house and below the lines the readings were 15-20. I backed down the street away from the lines and I experienced high levels of exposure pass the second house on the block. We also recently purchased a massage bed and usually laid on it for 30 minute sessions. This too had extremely high EMF readings in the 20+ range. Forget about paranormal and ghost detection. Everyone should have one of these meters to see what they are being exposed to daily. With such high occurances of cancer and other... 5/5 Daryl Bannister "sun lover" (Scottsdale, AZ USA) - See all my reviews, April 26, 2009

    Useful Combo

The two meters measure EM fields very well. The K-2 is more portable and is good for quick reads. I found it nearly as accurate as the Tri-field meter. The K-2 meter that I got seemed to be improved over some of them I saw on Youtube videos. For instance, when you click it on, it stays on, unlike one I saw where the person had a "momentary switch" and needed to wedge a coin in in order to keep it on. I do consider a regular on and off switch to be better than a momentary switch. The Trifield has three settings and five scales. The EM scales have the same data coming to them, but show a wide scale or a narrow more detailed scale for reads below 3 units. The more detailed scale matches the scale of the K-2 (which uses five LED lights to simplify the read into five small ranges, with a red light warning of too high an EMF). What I gathered from studying online is that the scale is keyed into the European safety standard, so that red light or red band does seem to indicate an EMF... 5/5 William Bagley (Ashland, Oregon) - See all my reviews, March 23, 2011

Highly Innaccurate at lower EMF readings, AC Magnetic Field only, EMF Meter shopping help

Review for: Lutron 822-A Fully Digital EMF MeterOVERVIEW:-----------Measures EMF strength of low frequency (30Hz-300Hz in this case) portion of AC MAGNETIC FIELD (NOT AC electric field, too) from ONE AXIS (direction) in milligauss (mG) or microteslas (uT).Because cell phones and microwaves are in a much higher frequency range, this product does not measure EMF (RF) at those frequencies. You would want a separate meter for that. The Achilles Heal of this instrument is that the design is HIGHLY INACCURATE for LOWER EMF readings. The accuracy is not 4% of the displayed value (+ 3 digits) but rather THE ACCURACY IS % OF THE VALUE OF THE END OF THE MEASUREMENT RANGE (4%x200mG = +/-8mG (+ 3 digits). Since most consumer EMF checking is in the single and low teens mG, this is unfortunate. This will do fine for noting the EXISTENCE of stronger EMF at lower frequencies, but appears to be a highly inaccurate choice for MEASURING... 2/5 Neil E. I had still not made the connection of my physical problems to ES until I bought this device and discovered just how many sources of Microwave radiation that I had been getting exposed to throughout the past 15 years culminating in my current deplorable state of health. Upon identifying, eleminating, and avoiding as much radiation as I can I have since begun to recover to something resembling better health. I have since been doing what I can to show people the levels present in my life so that others can question whether their health problems may be exacerbated by levels in their own surroundings. I have my videos posted... 5/5 redvers - See all my reviews Verified Purchase(What's this?) Must-Reading for Those Who Want to Protect Their Health in Our Cellphone/Laptop/Wifi World!

I've followed the terrific work of Ann Louise Gittleman, MS, CNS, PhD for years, and it's clear that after 30 books, many of them bestsellers, she has established herself as a leader in identifying the latest health challenges, as well as in presenting cutting-edge, common sense approaches to help resolve them.Zapped is an eye opener. A fascinating, well-researched, and well-referenced book that looks at the health consequences of our constant exposure to electromagnetic fields (EMFs) and electronic pollution. We are marinating in electromagnetic fields -- with homes and offices filled with wireless wi-fi internet, smart phones, laptops, electronic games, cordless devices and appliances everywhere. In Zapped, Dr. Gittleman makes a compelling argument for the health impact of this constant exposure, and outlines the research and studies behind the latest health concerns related to electronic pollution. In particular, Dr. Gittleman talks about -- and includes in... 5/5 Mary (Washington, DC) - See all my reviews, October 5, 2010

Important book.... but missing some important info

This book is very important for people who don't know about the EMF problem. It is pretty well researched... but it is certainly not the last word on the subject. Most glaring is the lack of any mention of the difference between switch-mode and linear transformers. Think of all your "wall warts"; if they were made since 1999 they are probably the switching type, which saves energy but creates EMFs at high frequencies, from 30 kiloHertz to a megaHertz and beyond. You can still buy linear ("regulated linear" is best) power supplies... just unplug them when not in use so you don't waste electricity. They won't contaminate the wiring in your house with "dirty electricity" (see the excellent article on this that appeared in Prevention Magazine last year). CFL bulbs use switch-mode supplies too... pretty much every digital device made since 1999 or 2000 does, and low-voltage DC halogen lamps too. The old linear type makes a strong magnetic field but that's only a... 5/5 Gene Jus "Gene" (desert city USA) - See all my reviews This review is from: Zapped: Why Your Cell Phone Shouldn't Be Your Alarm Clock and 1,268 Ways to Outsmart the Hazards of Electronic Pollution (Hardcover) This book is very important for people who don't know about the EMF problem. It is pretty well researched... but it is certainly not the last word on the subject. Most glaring is the lack of any mention of the difference between switch-mode and linear transformers. Scary, but empowering

I've follow the work of Ann Louise for years now, and respect her opinions on most any health-related issue. What's significant about this book is that it presents a number of compelling and troubling studies about the hazards of electro-magnetic pollution--not only from cell phones, but also from ordinary household appliances. It's quite troubling to learn that dimmer switches, hair dryers, baby monitors and any number of everyday items may emit harmful electromagnetic energy. That's the scary part. What makes this book different is that it's also empowering. After the facts are presented in a clear and comprehensive fashion, she goes on to give us some solutions, in the form of simple adjustments anyone can make to their lives--like getting a wind-up alarm clock, or unplugging appliances that you're not using. She also lists a number of foods and supplements that can protect against and perhaps even heal some of the harmful effects. (And they're not funky,... 5/5 L.T. - See all my reviews This review is from: Zapped: Why Your Cell Phone Shouldn't Be Your Alarm Clock and 1,268 Ways to Outsmart the Hazards of Electronic Pollution (Hardcover) I've follow the work of Ann Louise for years now, and respect her opinions on most any health-related issue.
