  Bounty Hunter Tracker IV - No Experience Necessary

  I figured that any metal detector would find the '32 Chevy buried in my backyard, but I wanted to find coins, rings, and Civil War relics in my 5 acre woods. It took 5 minutes to assemble the Tracker IV and about 15 minutes to review the instruction manual. Round up a few coins, a gold ring, and some nails and run through the demonstration on page 5 of the manual. It will give you an idea of how different objects respond to the 3 detection modes.I borrowed my wife's headphones (highly recommended) and headed for the woods. Within minutes I found beer cans, shotgun shells, nails. The detector will pinpoint an object close enough that you can dig it up with a few scoops of a garden trowel. On my second attempt I found a man's silver ring.Tracker IV appears to be well constructed and a good value. I don't have any experience with other detectors, but I can't imagine that any are easier to use than this one.   Great way to start!

  When I started researching metal detectors before buying one for my husband, I was overwhelmed with all the reviews, ads, etc., I found on the internet. I printed out all the information that seemed to have a "voice of authority" behind it; it wasn't long before one brand/model seemed to take first place as the best choice for units under $300. Reviews from novices to experts concurred that the Bounty Hunter Tracker IV was a great buy as well as a great metal detector for novice to intermediate users. My husband is not someone who reads the instructions before using anything, but I showed him some of the printouts that warned against trying to use any metal detector without getting familiar with the instruction booklet first (because if you don't know what you're doing, you'll be frustrated and decide the detector doesn't work right). For once, he did spend time reading the instructions and then practicing with the detector as the directions advised.   Fun and Easy to Use

  The Bounty Hunter was exactly what I was looking for. My 11 year old son and I wanted to expore metal detecting together. I didn't want to invest a large amount of money in something that was too high tech or that he would lose interest in. I didn't want to spend too little and get a cheap product. This item was priced right and so far has proven to be a quality item. It was easy to assemble (maybe 5 minutes), takes 2 standard 9 volt batteries and is lightweight enough for my 11 year old to handle with ease. The shaft adjusts in height so when I finally get my turn, I can adjust it to fit me. We are having a ball so far with it. We haven't found any high dollar finds yet, but the neighborhood kids have gone with us the last few days and made it a fun treasure hunt. In our search of a couple vacant lots, we have found 17 cents, lots of nails, an old bottle cap, a saw blade and other misc items.   This detector is easy to use and works well.

  This metal detector is easy to use and I really like it's digital display that ACCURATELY identifies the type of metal found. I got it as a gift for my dad, but couldn't help trying it out before giving it to him. As a test, it easily found coins and keys tossed randomly thru the yard. I've also found coins and nails that were lost years before. I also successfully used it to find an odd-shaped aluminum spacer that dropped from my motorcycle somewhere in the gravel driveway. I'm giving this one to my dad, but will buy another for myself. The motorcycle parts incident convinced me this detector is well worth the $90. I would suggest buying a 4x4 plastic tarp, small shovel, and some gardening hand troughs and rakes for use while detecting. We developed a good technique for yard-metal detecting. After getting a signal, cut up a cube of earth. Place the cube of earth on the tarp. Scan the cube to see if the metal is in it.   Bounty Hunter metal detector worked great

  I had lost my wedding band while spreading mulch around the house and I decided to try a metal detector to find it before replacing the ring. After doing some research on metal detectors, I decided the Bounty Hunter model was a reasonably priced investment for the search. It was easy to assemble and use and I was able to locate the lost ring after about 15 minutes of searching (I did have a general idea of the location of where the ring had gotten lost and it was only an inch or so under the surface). 5/5 W.   Only one Major Problem!

  Let me start by saying this was a gift for my dad. Hes been wanting a metal detector for as long as I remember. My mom and I did some collaborating and I purchased the Quick Silver on Amazon.My dad opened the package and was thrilled, he immediately opened the box and pulled the contents out...much like a kid on Christmas. He snapped the 3-4 pieces together in just a few minutes. The first thing he mentioned was the extremely light weight of the unit, its literally weightless in your hand.Overall the fully assembled unit is very sturdy and feels durable yet light in your hand, which will come in handy for those long days of hunting. We popped in the 2-9volt batteries (not included) and headed outside.My parents have a fairly large yard, and within seconds we were beeping and locating items! We agreed since it was getting late and the mosquitoes were terrible it would just be a test to get a feel for it, but after the first "detection" of course... 5/5 Matt J.   By comparison

  I have both the Bounty Hunter Quick Silver, and the Bounty Hunter Discovery 3300 models. With this reveiw you'll be getting a fair comparison of both. To start with. I dont't really see a clear advantage of the Discovery 3300, (the newest model) over the Quick Silver model. When the Quick Silver detects something that is buried in the ground. You can pretty much be assured there's something there. It doesn't seem to give false readings like the Discovery 3300 does. Although it doesn't detect as deep as the Discovery does. It lives up to it's name. It's much quicker. The Discovery will have you out digging up what I like to call, trash from the past. But not so much with the Quick Silver. Plus the Quick Silver seems to discrimate out an object much better than the Discovery. Yet, it cost a lot less. I have found a lot of coins, and two old metal die cast cars.   I purchased this metal detector as a birthday present for my father. After opening it, we read through the manual and quickly picked up on operation of the detector and how to distinguish between different types of metal.We gave it a try just skimming a small portion of our property and ended up finding quite a few objects. Some of the more notable items were a metal toy gun, several very old nails (square shaped), an old belt buckle, and best of all an old copper sleigh bell. Part of our property used to be the location of an old historical church (which was later moved) so it was pretty fun being able to find this much in just a small portion of our property.Overall, we were very impressed with the quality of this detector and the ease of use.   Did it's job

  First let me say I don't profess to know much about metal detecting. I bought this metal detector to find my wedding ring, which flew off my finger the other night while I was playing volleyball in the backyard with the kids (it was a chilly night and the ring was loose on my finger.) After an hour of searching, I figured it was worth it to buy an inexpensive metal detector in hopes of finding my ring.I ordered it on Wednesday, it arrived on Friday (2 day shipping for $3.99 with prime.) I put the batteries in, read through the well-written booklet and did the tests it suggested. We had no problems finding the test objects (penny, quarter, nail) so I started "sweeping" the area where I thought it might be. I found it within 15 minutes.   Excellent kids detector!

  This detector is excellent for kids, The size is just right and it introduces them into the world of detecting. The detector is of good solid quality and is a little version of an entry level adult model. You do have to explain to them how to use the discrimination controls because they are kind of confusing for a kid but they pick it up quick. The detector has actually found old cans and coins that have been about 5 feet underground so it searches pretty deep.   maybe I should open a museum

  I got this last night and as soon as I woke up this morning.I got it and went in my woods.Within going 30ft I got at least 20 hits! I found stuff such as a babered wire fence, 200 year old nail, and maybe the side of a musket. It works great very easy to assemble and use. I suggest this for anyone intrestead in finding meal items. also it was very easy to learn how use the dials.   A "have to have" accessory for your metal detector

  When researching metal detectors before buying a Bounty Hunter Tracker IV for a Christmas gift, I learned that using earphones with the detector not only makes hearing the "beeps" much easier, but also extends the battery life of the battery in the detector. We live in a windy, windy canyon area, so I knew the earphones were a necessity because of the constant wind noise. My husband says that the earphones effectively screen out noise that would overpower the emissions from the detector if he weren't wearing the headset.   Bounty Hunter QDII

  The Quickdraw II is a great all-around metal detector. I mostly use it in the "All metal" mode but have also used it to notch out unwanted metals where it performs as advertised. I've dug up relics and coins, and the coin ID has been accurate 99 percent of the time. You get used to the different sounds and after a while can guess what metal you're digging (tab, rusted can, etc). I don't believe the depth indicator works accurately on mine so I use it as a guide moreso than gospel. Many detector ads tout depth finding ability but how deep do you really need to go? Most of the stuff you'll find is not down that deep (2-8 inches or so - course your milege may vary). Took it to the beach and was satisfied. In the dry sand, it performed very well (get a good heavy-duty sand scooper for the beach). However, when used too close to the water or in wet sand, the detector gives off numerous false readings as the sodium in the water drives it crazy. To adjust, I turned the sensitivity... 4/5 M.   I did quite a lot of research before buying on all kinds and all prices of metal detectors. I found that for the price, the Quick Draw 2 had the options we wanted. I have been most pleased with this machine... if it tells me there is a coin..there is a coin. It has not been wrong yet. Batteries wear well. I haven't had to change them in over a month and we use it a lot on the week ends, and some through the week. I would definitely recommend it. I found that for the price, the Quick Draw 2 had the options we wanted. I have been most pleased with this machine... if it tells me there is a coin..there is a coin. It has not been wrong yet. Batteries wear well. I haven't had to change them in over a month and we use it a lot on the week ends, and some through the week. I would definitely recommend it.   The "Bounty Hunter Pinpointer" is a very useful hand held small metal detector used to help narrow your search after the larger metal detector has located an object. The pinpointer has a very limited range of about 1" - 1.5", depending on the type of metal and size of the object.   LOVE IT!

  I got this with my metal detector. it has been vary useful in finding the coin in the dirt pile. occasionally, if the ground is soft enough, I can pinpoint the coin by sticking the probe in the ground.   The pinpointer arrived promptly, and I put it to use the same day. I found it ver helpful once I was digging for an object. It did just what it is intended to do. I read some negative reviews, but I think if the item is not abused, and is treated like a friendly tool,, it will prove to be very useful and long lasting.   I wouldn't buy another one.

  I saw a review where the guy said he could put two detectors and all his equipment in the bag. I can't. It's a cramped fit to put one Sharp Shooter two in it, and that's after you take it apart and put the two pieces in the bag. There is enough room for 8" and 4" coils and headphones, but you have to take everything out of the bag to get to them. The bag is cramped with the detector alone and offers no padding for protection. If it sold in the $5 to $10 range, I would have given it two stars. 1/5 J.   Good, Reliable Bag

  For the life of me, I don't understand why this product has gotten so many negative reviews; though, I am guessing it is because people are not fully researching the product to see if their equipment fits, or perhaps they are not purchasing the proper bag to carry and store their detectors. However, I find this bag to be great for carrying and storing my Bounty Hunter TRACKER IV metal detector, along with the headphones and the spare detector coil.It's actually quite roomy and is the perfect length for my detector, and I find the straps inside the bag helpful in securing the detector. I do have to separate the detector into two pieces before storage, but that is not a problem to me. Though it looks thin, the bag is actually padded enough to protect its contents (my metal detector came out without a scratch after a 5+ hour car trip in which we heard it moving around in the trunk from time to time) and it also keeps them protected from the elements.   My md buddy let me try out his Bounty Hunter 1100 and immediately I was finding treasures my White past over. I found large items upto 18" deep.
