Publisher: Createspace Independent Pub

About this book
Do you ever dream of finding buried treasures on the beach? Have you sat there and watched as other people comb the beach with their metal detectors wondering if they ever really find anything? Do you think that they would be there doing it if they were not finding anything? These people are digging up silver, gold, diamonds, platinum, old coins, and every other type of treasure that you could imagine. It is real. There is an entire world of buried treasure right beneath your feet, and it is waiting for you to dig it all up. Finding that buried treasure does not have to be a dream. In fact, it is pretty darn simple as long as you know a few basics. You can get lucky. Anyone can get lucky, but knowing how to look at a beach and know exactly where the gold is, is a skill that most people only learn from experience. In this treasure hunting book, Mark Smith, a professional beach bum tells you exactly how he has found loads of treasure. There is more to it than swinging a coil, enjoying the scenery, and enjoying the breeze. Learn how to find treasure by: learning common metal detector terminology, types of water metal detectors, a metal detectors anatomy, other equipment you will need, proper etiquette, what you can expect to find, why you should never throw anything away, how to identify your finds, how to identify jewelry, how to tell if it is real gold, how to metal detect with children, the influence of the tides, how seasons and weather can uncover lost treasures from years past, how to pinpoint targets, how to quickly retrieve targets, how to zero in on certain locations and leave nothing uncovered. Learn from more than just words. Fully illustrated diagrams and real life pictures describe in detail various conditions of the beach, and how to find treasure on them. This book is more than just a how to metal detect at the beach book. It is full of real life treasure finding experiences that can easily happen to anyone that is swinging a coil over the sand. Very impressed for the price!

Ok, so I bought this for my 8 year old daughter, but I use it more. It is very simple sound based detector, once you get used to the high and low tones I have found about 90% plus accuracy for filtering out pull tabs and trash. My friend bought a $699 detector and each time we have gone out, I have found more than he has. His has a greater depth detection, but he ends up spending more time on deep stuff that ends up being trash. I even set up 3 trails of different coins in the grass and my daughter found all of hers well before the other two people. Recently I bought a more expensive detector Swarm Series MX100 for myself and there are too many random sounds and too many things to look at on the screen, I end up going back to use the Bounty hunter when we are out. I found it too difficult to pinpoint the actual item on the new one , where the bounty hunter tone gets highest when you are directly over the item. I would definitely recommend this to anyone, especially starters. I... 4/5 Kyle H Knop (Carrollton, TX United States) - See all my reviews Verified Purchase(What's this?) 5/5 Rachelle - See all my reviews Verified Purchase(What's this?) This review is from: Bounty Hunter Gold Digger Metal Detector (Lawn & Patio) Bought this for my 10 year old.. The Boutny Hunter Gold Digger is a great starter detector

The Boutny Hunter Gold Digger is a great starter detector. The screw that attaches the lower handle to the round bottom came off within the first few days of use, so make sure that you screw it on tight, but we tied leather string to keep it attached for the time being until we can get another screw, problem is any screw we've tried to attach as a replacement makes the detector go off because it's made of metal, go figure, so for now the string is fine. My son has found a couple of wheat pennies from the 70's and found a quarter from the year of 1917-1938, but the date is so worn, so we can't tell. He also found a Canadian dime from 1973 in our front yard! He has also found a lot of trash, even with the trash eliminator on 100%, so that doesn't really elliminate trash. We've also found a couple of WWII bullet casings and and a bullet that appears to be confederite. Lot's of rusty nails, lots of beer cans, and pull tabs. The price is really great and it's a lot of fun. The expression... 5/5 ArboMomma - See all my reviews Verified Purchase(What's this?) Loving this detector

5/5 Silverback0101 (Florida, Usa) - See all my reviews Verified Purchase(What's this?) This review is from: Bounty Hunter Discovery 2200 with FREE Pin-Pointer Metal Detector I don't know much about metal detecting. My son received a gift card for christmas and decided he wanted a metal detector. We researched together and read many reviews, but with his budget this was as high as we could go. ( teaching him responsibility of budgeting with what you have ), anyway, we got this on sale. Took it out a couple times with him but he soon lost interest because of how many hits sound off, and most of it was junk. Old beer cans, nails, screws, but a couple coins. I started taking this to the beach, and although I haven't dialed it all the way in yet to know what I'm detecting, I'm loving it and having a great time with this detector. according to the manual, anything gold, can hit in just about every category, so I'm digging everything I'm hitting on..... Hope to learn more and upgrade someday. Help other customers find the most helpful reviews  Was this review helpful to you? , February 14, 2017

5/5 Amazon Customer - See all my reviews Verified Purchase(What's this?) This review is from: Bounty Hunter Discovery 2200 with FREE Pin-Pointer Metal Detector I!m a first time detector, and have only been out once in my backyard but it performs as promised. I hunted with everything on, found coins, junk metal, nails.....but it was fun as hell! As I progress, I!ll block what I don!j wanna dig! The pinpointers is a little suspect though, not happy but it was cheap. I have ordered a Garrett pro pointer II, which has a 3 fo 4 times better range than the free one. This will continue to improve my skills! Like I said, The detector was as promised! Help other customers find the most helpful reviews  Was this review helpful to you? , February 3, 2017

This detector is easy to use and works well.

This metal detector is easy to use and I really like it's digital display that ACCURATELY identifies the type of metal found. I got it as a gift for my dad, but couldn't help trying it out before giving it to him. As a test, it easily found coins and keys tossed randomly thru the yard. I've also found coins and nails that were lost years before. I also successfully used it to find an odd-shaped aluminum spacer that dropped from my motorcycle somewhere in the gravel driveway. I'm giving this one to my dad, but will buy another for myself. The motorcycle parts incident convinced me this detector is well worth the $90. I would suggest buying a 4x4 plastic tarp, small shovel, and some gardening hand troughs and rakes for use while detecting. We developed a good technique for yard-metal detecting. After getting a signal, cut up a cube of earth. Place the cube of earth on the tarp. Scan the cube to see if the metal is in it. Use the hand tools to break up the dirt cube and find... 4/5 Scottro (Pittsburgh, PA) - See all my reviews Verified Purchase(What's this?) 4/5 Amazon Customer (Boston, MA USA) - See all my reviews Verified Purchase(What's this?) This review is from: Bounty Hunter Land Ranger Pro Metal Detector (Lawn & Patio) Have always been and still am a Minelab guy. Picked this up as a back up and am absolutely amazed at the performance. My first unit ever was a bounty hunter and was not impressed. This has made me rethink their performance. The design is decent. Alot of plastic and feels of cheaper build. This makes it extremely light however and able to be swung for much longer. The more you hunt...the more you find.Quarter at 10 inches and a two cent piece at a foot. For this price, you can't go wrong with that performance. Help other customers find the most helpful reviews  Was this review helpful to you? , June 17, 2015

    Overall high quality Machine.

I like pretty much everything about this detector! The sensitivity, the Depth, the simple control box! I tried it out in the back forest of our building & immediately found a 1946 dime! Silver I guess? BUT, my daughter saw the overall beauty of the product, so I gave it to her! As she wanted to use it for Gold prospecting, I also bought the 4" Gold Coil for her! As I write, (Sunday the 11th. of June/2016) she is testing it out now somewhere in Nevada, and I will tell you results, that is if she set-it-up properly for Gold hunting mode, and got ACTUAL stated results on it? I will however, tell you her experience with the LR! As for the Gold Coil, I spent another 10 Bucks for it from one of Amazon's suppliers, Santili I think the name was, but cheaper 4" gold coils could be found elsewhere at Amazon! I wanted the product designed by, and Stamped Bounty Hunter on it, but that wasn't the case! WOW...GREAT MACHINE FOR THE PRICE

This is my 3rd detector after tesoro silver sabre umax, and a cheap radio shack type machine. I can tell you I have in the past year detected with serious relic hunters and have found a treasure trove of goodies being I live in history rich Richmond Va. Have had machine 2 days and still have a little to learn about machine but I can promise you this is a beast machine for the price. Found silver ring and 3 silver coins in a spot I have hit many times and this is while I'm still in learning curve. First learn the machine well and go with someone who has been doing it for a while if you are new. Don't just get mad because you are confused about what machine is doing. With a little practice and a good spot this machine will deliver with machines costing 4 times as much. I know this because I hunt with guys that have f75's and machines that cost even more. Bottom line this is a BIG bang for the buck. Machine is very light. It is mostly plastic so I wouldn't be rough with it or... 5/5 Leroy Jenkins - See all my reviews Verified Purchase(What's this?) I purchased this as a compliment to my son's BH EX detector so we could spend time away from his WII and PSP. Not being experienced with detectors and the features available I first spent time online watching tutorials etc... (Recommended!) With insight gained from experts the criteria for purchase came down to: discrimination, notching, motionless detection, penetration depth, and price. The BH sharpshooter II met all of these. Particularly the price was interesting as it is a recently discontinued model. To date the unit has performed very well. There is some 'chatter' in the discriminate and notch modes. Mostly big ferrous stuff will set off a random combination of tones regardless of the tuning. Dig a few of these and you quickly learn to listen to what the unit is telling you. Conversely, a solid tone is equally clear to the user once one learns to 'listen' to the unit. I've found the motionless 'all metal' detection mode particularly useful to gain a sense of the size and... 5/5 weekend warrior - See all my reviews Verified Purchase(What's this?) Here's a Good Way to Start Metal Detecting

5/5 Larry K (Hicksville, NY United States) - See all my reviews Verified Purchase(What's this?) This review is from: Bounty Hunter SS2 Sharpshooter II Metal Detector (Lawn & Patio) This unit was purchased for my 10 year old granddaughter. I went with her on her first use and was not disappointed. She was able to locate several objects on her first outing including a dime. The next day we went out again and she found several more things including a quarter. It's not the cheapest of the detectors but it's far from the most expensive. I wanted my granddaughter to have good luck right away because you know how kids can be, and like I said, this unit did not disappoint. It's a competent machine and very good as a starter unit even for an adult who may be curious about metal detecting and isn't sure if he's going to stay with it. If you like it, and upgrade to a "pro" model, this one won't have cost you too much. Very nice device. Works great, simple to use.

This is my first metal detector. After receiving the detector, I quickly assembled it, reviewed about two pages of instructions and then couldn't wait any longer. I went out to the backyard and fumbled around a bit. It is pretty straight forward. I did need to go back and read the directions a bit to see how to fine tune the detector. In my back yard I have a power-line overhead, so I had to turn the sensitivity down or it would start randomly beeping. I was able to quickly find some pennies, a dime and some old brass hose nozzles in my yard.I took it out to the local school and found several quarters, pennies, a silver heart pendant, and my favorite so far, a 1910 silver Canadian dime.I ended up buying some cheap foam headphones and an adapter to plug it in. They work pretty good for the 7 bucks I spent on the headphones and adapter.I would definitely recommend getting the pinpointer.
